Due to work commitments the band will be taking to the stage on saturday without their regular Principal Cornet James Fountain or Flugel player Nick Mott. Fortunately however the band have been able to secure the services of long time friends of the band Ben Godfrey and Ralph Brill to cover the seats in their absence.
Both players bring with them great experience Ben a former ex Principal Cornet of the GUS Band, and a current Geneva artist did not hesitate when asked to play.
Ralph is another ex principal of the band and is currently School Band Sergeant Major at the Royal Military School of Music, having spent over 30 years playing in both the Welsh and latterly the Scots Guards. Ralph has helped the band out on numerous occasions most recently being the bands winning performance at this years Masters.
The Band is also looking forward to teaming up with Aiden Smith, Solo horn of Manger Band as he comes in to cover on 1st Horn and Steve Moulton on percussion who has come in to cover the recent vacancy created by their previous Timpani player Gemma sharp who has recently moved to Wales to study at the Royal Welsh college of music and drama.
